Golden Triangle with Udaipur
This 9-day tour combines the classic Golden Triangle with a journey to Udaipur, the City of Lakes, set against the Aravalli Hills in southern Rajasthan.
The tour opens with two days in Delhi, taking in the Mughal grandeur of Jama Masjid and Red Fort, the monuments of Lutyens’ New Delhi, and a visit to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib including its community kitchen.
In Agra, the Taj Mahal is visited at sunrise, when the light on the white marble is at its most spectacular. The route to Jaipur passes through Fatehpur Sikri, the Mughal emperor Akbar’s capital that was abandoned within a generation of its construction.
The Taj Mahal, best seen at first light, when the marble glows from pale gold to white
Jaipur, the Pink City, offers the 16th-century Amer Fort, the City Palace, and Jantar Mantar, the royal observatory built in 1734.
The tour culminates in Udaipur, considered one of the most romantic cities in India. The boat ride on Lake Pichola, with the Lake Palace seemingly floating in its centre, is among the most iconic views in Rajasthan.
